Went to Turbo Tim's - Mounds View today for oil change and a/c issues. I grew up in Mounds View, so I was familiar with them. But I confess I mainly went to them because I wanted to see the kitties! But Jack and everyone was so helpful (sorry about the leak) and friendly! The kitties Tony, Kai, Taylor and Beaver were all wonderful. Taylor stayed by me the whole time I was there (4 hours!) and seemed to know I was leaving because he then jumped on my lap and climbed up my shoulder and starting rubbing his dear little face against mine!!! They offer Lyfts and after hour pickup which worked wonderful for me since I work late. I loved hanging out with the cats as well! The entire staff is incredibly friendly, and their prices for the oil change are highly affordable. I absolutely love that they offer a complimentary Lyft service to and from the shop. When it came to the vehicle diagnostic, they were thorough, informative, and the diagnostic services didn't feel overpriced at all. Instead of just handing me an overwhelming list of fixes, they prioritized everything from most important to least important. This transparency is so refreshing and makes it incredibly easy for me to plan out and budget for future repairs. As a wonderful bonus, their shop cats are absolutely delightful and made the wait very pleasant. I highly recommend this team and will definitely be back!+1Posted on Google

Eric MessengerMarch 5, 2026I can't praise this place enough. From the year I've been coming here they have been the most transparent, communicative, and friendly shop I have been to. They have done great work on both my Kia and Subaru, even dealing with my Subaru being in for almost 3 months from Bearing, then Transmission extended warranty work, then ending the bad luck streak with Insurance Axle work. Either by phone, text, or in person they carry the same amount of friendliness and professionalism between all of it. I brought my Toyota Venza in for some much-needed upkeep and was met by the dynamic duo, Jack and Darius—equal parts automotive sages and absolute legends. I tried to stay focused on their expert guidance, but the irresistible feline supervisors roaming the shop kept demanding little nose boops. (Who am I to deny such royalty?) Jack walked me through every detail—in person and with video/text updates—making sure I understood exactly what my car needed and why. Together, he and Darius helped me build a realistic 90-day maintenance plan so I can keep driving my car like I stole it and still hit my fantasy goal of 300k miles. I had an AC charge done for $200 which I thought was very reasonable. I'll be back. We have gone to their RC race events also which is fun for the whole family. I dropped off my car and they provided a lyft ride back to my work at no cost. They went over my entire vehicle with pictures and a few recommended services with good descriptions. The work was completed on my car in a few hours and I was able to pick it up quickly. Will definitely be bringing my car back for service.+0Posted on Google
Astrid SchwartzOctober 26, 2025I primarily worked with Darius, but shout-out to Jack too since he popped in on the follow-up text. :) I actually initially dropped my car off at another Turbo Tim's location, but they were swamped, so the Mounds View crew took the initiative to bring it up there to get it diagnosed and fixed quicker. They were very communicative throughout the whole process, and patient and thorough in explaining and breaking it down to a complete car novice. Complete cost break down, and even helped run me through prioritization for upcoming maintenance! Swift repairs and chill atmosphere, which is always nice when having to crack open the wallet. Exceeded my expectations across the board, from customer service to time to pricing. I'm sorry to all the other cats (who were all delightful and well-loved) but respect to Fat Tony for showing who really owns the place when I dropped off my car before opening at a later appointment.+0Posted on Google

CrystianAugust 17, 2025I brought my vehicle to Turbo Tim’s in Moundsview for a tricky head gasket repair, and the experience was excellent. The communication was top-notch, with detailed notes, pictures, and videos during the diagnosis that made everything clear. The workmanship on the repair itself was also top-notch, flawless results, and they even went above and beyond by wiping down all the engine components they had taken apart and reassembled, which really shows how proud they are of their work. While a few unexpected hiccups popped up (as can happen during complex repairs), the way Darius and Sean skillfully navigated them and kept me informed every step of the way impressed me and earned my trust. Head gasket repairs are some of the most technically demanding car repairs you can get, often requiring 20+ hours of labor and many parts. I left Turbo Tim’s having spent thousands of dollars on an advanced repair, and yet I walked out with a huge smile on my face. It was entirely my interactions with Darius, Sean, and Jack that transformed the experience. The staff are clearly passionate about what they do, and it shows in every interaction with customers. Lastly, and I do not say this lightly, Darius is the most skilled, empathetic, and passionate store manager of ANY store I’ve ever encountered, whether it’s a mechanic shop or any other type of business. He clearly takes full responsibility for everything happening in the store, and forget going an extra mile in customer service, he goes an extra twenty to ensure your questions and concerns are addressed. Walking In you are greeted by friendly kitties everywhere. That alone sold me!! Staff is five star. They are so nice!!! Also they never try to upsell you on repairs you don’t need and their prices are very reasonable. I appreciated the follow up texts too checking on my car. They even arrange an Uber or Lyft to get you home after you drop off your car, and again when it’s ready for pickup. I’d highly recommend them to anyone looking for honest, high-quality auto work. They’re very detailed about listing the things your car may need done and attach pictures as well. This is super helpful for making a “to do next” list for vehicle maintenance.
